This publication examines the global resurgence of tall building construction following a post-recession slowdown, highlighting a wave of new developments across major cities such as New York, Melbourne, Beijing, and Toronto. It explores emerging urban typologies—from ultra-slender luxury towers to large-scale regeneration projects—alongside advances in construction technology, resilience, and public space design. Drawing on papers from the CTBUH 2015 New York Conference, the volume also investigates the increasingly complex, interconnected flows of global capital driving these projects, and considers how these forces, combined with innovation, are shaping a more adaptable and sustainable future for skyscrapers.
